We're Expecting!

After a couple of years trying to get pregnant and multiple tests to eliminate any possible obstacles, we have finally been blessed with a child! Words can't adequately describe how excited we are to start the family we have been hoping for. So many of our friends and family had been praying for us, particularly in May, which is Mary's month. As she has been throughout our entire relationship, she was there for us again in our special request, since I conceived the following month in June. Thank you to everyone who offered intentions for us and for our family - we are eternally grateful and so happy to be on the road to parenthood!

Baby's first photo - 7 weeks

This doesn't look like much but although the baby looked

like just a tiny spot on the screen, seeing its little

heart beating so fast was the most awesome thing I

have ever seen. Though there were no distinguishable features

at this point, there was an amazing little life in there!

What has amazed me throughout this pregnancy so far

has been following my baby's development week by week.

To know that it already had a heartbeat at 4-5 weeks, before

most women even know they're pregnant, is truly miraculous.

Life grows so fast and every week there are such huge

developments - so phenomenal!

IT'S A BOY!!

He fooled me! I kept thinking Baby Bailey was a girl,

mostly because I'd been feeling so sick and had heard

that girls tend to make you more nauseous. Not true!

Though we weren't partial in our hopes for a boy or a

girl, we were happy to find out that it was a boy. Neal

is (was) the last male Bailey in his family, and now that

we're having a son the Bailey name will live on. Choosing

a name was easy - since Neal is a III we always said that we

would keep the tradition going if we had a boy. So, our little

guy will be William Neal Bailey IV - Will for short. It's nice

to be able to call him by name now. :-)

I can tell, even this early on, that our son is going to

look just like his dad. Everyone I have shown this

picture to who knows Neal says the same thing -

spitting image of his papa!

We do ask for continued prayers, to make sure that mommy and little Will remain healthy and that when the time comes, labor and delivery go well. It's been great to share this experience with so many of you and to be surrounded by such love and support. Thank you all!
