Breathtaking Beauty of the Pyrenees Mountains

Before we left, we had to get up into the Pyrenees Mountains.  Neal is most inspired by mountains and since we don't have any in Houston, this was a good opportunity to see some of the world's finest.  We took a bus tour up a narrow road to Pont D'Espagne (Point of Spain, named because Spain is literally just on the other side of these mountains).  It was about an hour bus ride and was worth every minute.  We saw some spectacular scenery this day, probably the best on the trip.

Before we had reached our destination, we stopped
in a little town that had these beautiful waterfalls.

Once we arrived at our destination, we had the option to
hike around the lower part of the mountains or go up
higher to take a short hike to the Lac De Gaube.  We
opted for the hike to the lake and in order to get there,
had to take both a cable car (le telecabin) and a ski lift
(le telesierge) up the mountain.

We made it!

Again, my least favorite part of the adventure - the
ride up and down the steep mountain.

A great way to gain a little extra inspiration before
heading back home.
